Columbia International University Columbia, SC
I am convinced in my most humble, unbiased opinion that Columbia International University is one of the best colleges in the nation, if not the world (okay, so maybe I'm a bit biased in my opinion). I am currently a senior, with a double major in Bible and Biblical Languages, but CIU has wonderful programs ranging anywhere from communications to education, though I still think the biblical languages major is the greatest and my Greek and Hebrew professors have to be the best!.
I've lived off campus for almost two years now, and for the most part, am still enjoying it. To be honest, there are times when it is miserably lonely, and though I miss the on-campus lifestyle at times, I do not think I would move back if given the chance. I enjoy being out of the sheltered bubble that a Christian environment can have, and hey! I don't have to eat cafeteria food anymore, nor do I have a curfew, and I always have plenty of space - just a couple of the off-campus perks :-) The family I live with is fantastic and in many ways, I feel like I have three more siblings, though we drive each other nutty occasionally. Anyway, my first impression of the CIU campus was "this place is absolutely beautiful". Over the couple of years that I have been here, I am even more in awe of God's creation. For instance, the picture above was taken from one of my favorite homework spots, a little gazebo behind the brick prayer towers that I loved to "camp out in" on nice afternoons when I've got time to kill on campus. If youve never been here, and are in the Columbia area, come visit us! I promise that you will love it!
